There is a chance you may get your money back, If your child bought something in an app from Amazon's app store without your permission.
Amazon could have to hand out more than $70 million in refunds to affected consumers, according to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Amazon was found responsible for stuff that kids bought without parents' permission and didn't provide sufficient disclosures or ask parents to approve the purchases children made. It did not also require a password to make purchases within apps.
More than $70 million in in-app charges made from 2011 to 2016 may be eligible for refunds,the FTC notes. It’s unlikely that all customers affected will take the time to make their requests, however.
